Sep 17, 2011 What other amps have that hitachi mosfet sound? — Polk Audio I was running two bridged hitachi hma 8500 mkII connected to a pair of pioneer hpm 500's with that little ribbon and a couple of polk psw 505 (one for each channel). The HITACHI HMA-8500 MkII was introduced in 1981 and was the last model in a long series of MOSFET power amplifiers by HITACHI (Lo-D in Japan) It is a high quality MOSFET class AB stereo power amplifier that work on principals similar to vacuum tubes rather then bipolar transistors. Sort by unrated Very nice power mosfet Hitachi HMA-8500 MK II power amp and matching HCA-8500 MK II preamp. Previous owner converted lighting to blue led's and replaced plastic speaker posts with gold banana jacks. Nice working condition except The bulbs on the right side are out and the needle on the right side isn’t moving, but the audio sounds really nice. Everything else works as it should. Has a few scratches and marks but not too bad. Please view all the photos as they are part of the description.
